Karen Rule – Psychologist | Executive Coach | Culture & Leadership Consultant

Karen is a registered Psychologist, Executive Coach, and Consultant with over 30 years of experience specialising in strategic human resource management, leadership development, and large-scale cultural transformation. She brings a proven track record of delivering impactful projects across industries, partnering with global organisations to drive sustainable change.

Karen has worked with thousands of leaders—from CEOs to emerging talent—and is recognised as a trusted advisor and expert in applying behavioural science, neuroscience, and applied psychology to solve complex business and people challenges. Known for her ability to engage audiences from the boardroom to the front line, she is also a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF), having delivered more than 500 hours of executive coaching.

Her strategic project highlights include:

  • Re-designing a performance management system for 20,000 employees at a global mining company
  • Delivering a new enterprise-wide change management framework to 2,000 HR professionals at a multinational energy organisation
  • Co-designing the program that won Australia’s Best Leadership Development Program (2016, Australian HR Awards)

Karen holds a BA in Psychology and Economics and a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Psychology from the University of Melbourne. She earned her MBA with Distinction from City University Business School, London, specialising in Human Resource Management. She is a registered psychologist with AHPRA and the Psychologists Registration Board of Victoria (1996–2025).

Karen co-designed and delivered the Simplot suite of leadership development programs that won the 2106 category Award of Australia’s Best Leadership Development Program. The program was uniquely experiential and delivered a step change in leadership skill to the company. The leadership graduates each created innovation projects that delivered substantial investment returns to Simplot.
Karen has trained with Marshall Goldsmith, one of the worlds leading coaches and creator of the stakeholder centred coaching approach. Karen is part of Marshall’s LEAD60 cohort of coaches, and uses the acclaimed 360 assessment tool created by Marshall – the Global Leadership Assessment.
